Went out today to try out my new filter on the train…and realized I was standing in this very messy patch of weeds while waiting!
Monthly Archives: December 2007
I am still here! (I think!?!?)
No, I did not fall off the face of the earth…although at some moments over the last week I sure feel like I did!
Now that the cookies have been baked (lime meltaways, chocolate chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, sugar AND peanut butter) and candy (buckeyes for DD) have been made, on top of a loaf of chocolate bread and 2 GALLONS of caramel popcorn, kitchen cleaned for the umpteenth time, dinners eaten, presents opened, etc etc etc, I finally found myself again and have 2 minutes to sit down to write something!
Christmas was lovely. 2 of DD’s friends came to dinner and we had a good time. Alli (dd’s friend who is Jewish and we’ve integrated fully into christmas now) LOVED her hat and mittens I knitted/crocheted for her, and oohed and aahed over them for quite some time. Total gift list of “made” includes:
DD:
All black crochet afghan to cover the top of her queen size bed
Scrapbook of “words of wisdom from mom” which not only included advice, but favorite recipes
Photo album of pics of x boyfriend, who now is a best friend
Alli:
Hat – knit
mittens – crochet
AND the train cross stitch that I’ve been working on for MONTHS (see below). I modified it to include a diesel engine instead of a passenger car, and did a crossbuck instead of a ticket window, AND took out the little men at the bottom. It’s the first time I’ve done x stitch in ….17? years??? and it took a lot longer than I expected, but came out beautifully.
I got 2 new filters for my camera and a softbox, and spent some time yesterday playing with them. Results:
Thanks for all the wonderful holiday wishes we received. We had a great time together, which is all that matters. Now it’s time to clean up, and look forward to a bright, and hopefully prosperous, new year.

For me, the year 2007 had a lot of happiness (and hope for 2008). Happiness because i see my son, grow and grow day by day. I have a great husband. I met lots of new friends from around the world via blogging ^_^ – Juliana RW
The year 2007 has been a good year for me. Me and my husband had our 10th anniversary, my children are healthy, I got a new great-nephew, and I made a lot of new friends through blogging. ~ Mom Knows Everything
2007 has be a difficult, yet insightful year for me. Lots of changes, both good and bad, but even the bad ones have made me look into myself, find strength, hope and perhaps even a bit of intestinal fortitude I never knew I had. There were loved ones lost, friends gained, and hopefully, a sense of faith that someday, everything would be ok. ~ Baldwin’s Girl

I’m tagging Hootin’ Anni, Natalie and Bridget
